We want to express to the Parkside congregation our appreciation for all you have done for us in launching our "new career" as missionaries to the Dominican Republic.  I guess we are officially called "missionary associates", since we are not trained as career missionaries and not supported by the Great Commission Fund.  We cannot thank you enough for all of your support--financial, emotional, and spiritual.  Your financial contributions provided for our airfare, storage of our household goods, and many other miscellaneous expenses involved with moving.  Your encouragement that we could even do this was a blessing beyond measure.  And of course, your prayers were most important, because, as we all know, our strength comes from God alone.  These first few weeks are a time of many adjustments, and we covet your prayers.  But we also ask for your continued prayers while here so that we can minister from God's leading and not our own.  We have already been learning that God's strength is made perfect in our weakness.  We will continue to pray for Parkside and its outreach to the Watertown community.  If anyone wants to receive our monthly email, and does not receive a copy in June, please let Sharon know in the church office, or email us directly.
